COMAVIP.SA is a public limited company under Mauritanian law, registered in the Nouadhibou Free Zone under number NIF RC: ANZF/A/0188, NIF: 70 401 906, specialised in the processing, valorization and marketing of fish. It is approved by the Nouadhibou Free Zone under number N°17AB0102053 for the activities of « processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans and molluscs ».
The fish processing workflow at COMAVIP can be summarised as follows:
1. Pelagic fish
- Landing from RSW vessels into refrigerated tanks specially designed for transport, under conditions that guarantee freshness.
- Unloading of fresh fish at the plant into refrigerated basins.
- Routing to one of three processing lines: whole fish, fillet, or headed / gutted / tailed fish (HGT).
- Once processing is complete, products are frozen at -35 °C, packed and stored between -18 °C and -25 °C.
- Products for shipment are loaded into refrigerated containers at the dispatch airlock.
2. Demersal fish
- Landing from ice-carrying vessels or small boats in crates with ice.
- Reception at the plant in a 0 °C chamber pending processing.
- Sorting and grading of the fish.
- Routing to one of two processing lines: whole fish or fillet.
- Once processing is complete, products are frozen at -35 °C, packed and stored between -18 °C and -25 °C.
- Products for shipment are loaded into refrigerated containers at the dispatch airlock.
3. Cephalopods
- Landing from ice-carrying vessels or small boats in crates with ice.
- Reception at the plant in a 0 °C chamber pending processing.
- Sorting and grading of the catch.
- Once processing is complete, products are frozen at -45 °C, packed and stored between -18 °C and -28 °C.
- Products for shipment are loaded into refrigerated containers at the dispatch airlock.
